Rain changes everything. Through my lens, Bologna becomes a different city - its medieval porticoes and modern buses turned into stages where everyday life slows down and shifts behind veils of water. I shot these images during a single rainy day in October 2024. The rain created natural barriers - steamed glass, wet plastic sheets, streams of water - transforming Bologna's familiar terracotta walls and worn cobblestones into something dreamlike. Under the glow of street lamps and shop windows, ordinary scenes become paintings in water, as people gather and scatter like leaves in the rain.
These aren't just photos of people escaping weather. They're glimpses of shared moments: morning commuters lost in thought, evening diners cocooned in warm light, strangers huddled in shelters. Bologna's soul shows itself in the rain, when its streets become mirrors and its people move through the city like figures in a water-colored story.
