In 2024, October 1st was designated as a temporary public holiday, marking the first time that the Korean Armed Forces Day would be celebrated as a public holiday since 1991, when it was excluded from the list of the country’s public holidays. In 2025, it becomes a non-public holiday once again. Celebration events are also pulled back to hold outside the centre of Seoul, unlike in 2023 & 2024.
