The project was created last October, during a writing retreat in L'école des Vivants which is founded by writer Alain Damasio, aiming to create a space for people to keep experimenting in the nature. We were ten students and three tutors there to write about Ecology and Creation and were supposed to read each other what we had written during the day and make feedback sessions at the end of each day. This became quickly a healing experience. All those faces i barely saw before in school, started to become familiar. I didn't feel at ease with speaking French in groups, i photographed them as a way of self-expression. As Batchen states , “What had to be invented instead of camera obscure was an apparatus seeing that involved both reflection and projection, that was simultaneously active and passive in the way it represented things, that incorporated into its very mode of being the subject seeing and the object being seen. That apparatus was photography”, I was surprised to see how the process itself was so nourishing and allowing me to change continuously. My initial intention was to work on loneliness and isolation. I ended up making images that made me feel very crowded
